Spring Session Starts Next Week & A New ‘Performance Lab’ Class!

‘Performance Lab’ class returns this Spring Session!  In this class, Level 2 and above students will choreograph a solo act with the guidance of an instructor over 6 weeks, using skills they have already learned in current or previous classes. It is helpful to take a skills class at the same time as taking this class. Holiday Open Gyms 🎄🎁🎆

Aerial Arts of Utah classes are now on Winter Break from December 24- January 1.  Our next class session runs January 2- February 12, 2023 (6 week session).

HOWEVER, current AAofU students can still get time in the air during the break! 🎪

Upcoming Fabric/Rope Workshop with Jenn Bruyer

CREATING CONTINUOUS MOVEMENT            

When:  Monday, August 8, 2022  6:00-8:00pm   $60 

Where : Sugarspace Arts Warehouse,  132 S. 800 W. Salt Lake City, UT

This workshop will explore a selection of the fundamental pieces and parts of ascending, descending, and rotational movement. Together we will twist, spiral, invert, roll, wrap and construct our way up, down, and through the apparatus. Level: intermediate or greater. The workshop is for Fabric as well as Rope students.

Jenn Bruyer is a multidisciplinary performance artist, choreographer, and coach. She has entertained audiences and guided students around the world including over 30 US states, China, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, and Mexico since 2008.

*4 weeks for Mon classes, 5 weeks for Wed-Sat classes

*5 weeks Mon- Thurs classes, 4 weeks for Sat classes

March/April 2021, Covid-19 guidelines

Thanks to all our students and staff for supporting AAofU during this challenging time!  As a result, we’ve managed to not just stay open, but to thrive!   Smaller classes have provided a more personal approach to aerial instruction,  like a semi-private class- an unintended happy consequence of the times!

COVID-19 Update–  As coronavirus restrictions begin to relax and the statewide mask mandate in Utah is scheduled to be lifted on April 10,  we want to reiterate for you our continued approach to keeping students and staff safe.   For now, we will continue to follow The Center for Disease Control  (CDC) guidelines and will maintain our current Covid-19 safety procedures, including the wearing of masks.

“Risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection during public social activities such as dining indoors at a restaurant or going to the gym is lower for fully vaccinated people. However, precautions should still be taken as transmission risk in these settings is higher and likely increases with the number of unvaccinated people present. Thus, fully vaccinated people engaging in social activities in public settings should continue to follow all guidance for these settings including wearing a well-fitted mask, maintaining physical distance (at least 6 feet), avoiding crowds, avoiding poorly ventilated spaces, covering coughs and sneezes, and washing hands frequently. “

Winter Session is here!

Aerial Arts of Utah is happy to be launching our 3 week Winter Session classes from November 30th- December 20th.  Winter Break will be Dec 21- 27.  Keep an eye on the website for extra Open Gym times and workshops during the break!   Register:  https://shop.aerialartsofutah.com/

In addition to this session’s  Intro to Aerial, Trapeze, Lyra, Hammock, Rope- and online Beautiful Arc’s classes,  we are adding GYROKINESIS® to keep your body in tip-top aerial shape.

GYROKINESIS®is a system of somatic exercise originally created for dancers, but applicable to everyone with a passion for movement. November Session Classes

We here at Aerial Arts of Utah are beginning a new class session as November- and colder weather rolls into the Salt Lake Valley. Join us!

If you are new to Aerial, a great way to start is our  ‘Intro to Aerial’ class on Saturday mornings, where you can try out both Aerial Fabric and Trapeze to find your favorite!  We also offer all levels of Rope, Aerial Fabric, Trapeze, Lyra, & Hammock.  Want to practice from home?  We have an online class to work on your ‘Beautiful Arcs’.  Also, Private Lessons are available.

For the safety of all, we continue our Covid-19 guidelines. Small classes up to 4 students, masks, no sharing of equipment (students use a dedicated apparatus each class), distancing (except when spotting)- and now adding air filtration for health and happiness up in the air!
